The Alberta Paranormal Investigators Society Inc (TAPIS) originally got its start way back in 2004. After encouragement, Beth Fowler got a team together and equipment, and started 'Hauntings and Paranormal Investigations Alberta' (HAPIA), where her theories could be tested out in the field. After one of her theories on orbs was showcased on Coast to Coast AM in the states, HAPIA started getting calls for investigations at peoples homes, where the team would go in with equipment (no mediums), and either gather evidence for the homeowners, and/or find out natural explanations. This led to more investigations, interviews on Big Breakfast TV, CBC Radio, Edmonton Journal and other media outlets.
As the word got out about the team, concerns from homeowners were voiced to HAPIA about 'mediums' taking advantage and asking for money, and scared homeowners being taken advantage of.
Seeing the need for more regulations, TAPIS was born in 2009. New members would have to pass security background checks, and had to abide by a strict code of ethics and bylaws, mainly to protect the homeowners. At the datte of their registration, TAPIS was the first Paranormal Team in Alberta to be listed under the Societies act under the Government of Alberta.
TAPIS does no rely on Mediums to gather evidence. The group mainly focus on gather ing evidence through more scientific means (which when captured on video, audio, photographs, are viewed as more reliable than a mediums opinion, and is more 'proof' worthy).
In late 2013/2014, the Society went their seperate ways, as life events needed attention. Early 2018, Beth's health took a downturn, but started talking to others about getting a new and improved team together.
In early 2019, the new team will be announced, and there is a video currently on the youtube channel that details where we have been, and the future
